After taking the Typology Quiz my results were that I would be considered a "Main Street Republican". While reading the descriptions of my "party affiliation" there was small conflict because some parts of the description did represent me and other parts didn't. In my life my religious beliefs are a huge part of who I am but I am usually positive towards the issue of immigrants and the role they play in our Country. Immigrants do play a positive role in our country as their abilities and cultural beliefs help to strengthen our culture. But I do believe that the American culture is and always will the be, the heart and soul of our nation.

  2. Such a great post. Exactly what I'm looking for!! :)

  3. After taking the Typology Quiz, my result was Post-Modern. I had no problem choosing between the two statements. I'm really strong in my beliefs of things. I'm not strictly religious, I'm very Pro-human rights, and believe everyone has the same opportunities. Some may just have to work harder to achieve their goals. Anything is possible if you work hard at it.
I don't see immigration as a threat or as anything negative. But I don't think their cultures will ever overpower the American culture. Of course it'll influence the culture, but it won't over power it.

  4. After taking the Typology Quiz, my results were Solid Liberal. I was already expecting results leaning more towards liberal because I am so firm in my beliefs about human rights, I believe that their should be more done to help the lower class (however I am not a fan of handing out money to be who do nothing but sit on their butts, we should help those who help their selves.) Also that gay marriage should be legal. Religion is should be a personal matter and since we live in a country like America where we have so many different cultures it is unfair to try to base our laws and regulations on a single religion.

    1. (with all due respect) this single religion (assuming you are speaking of Christianity) is what the entire country was based on the pilgrims came over here to worship freely without persecution of the king. Christianity is essentially why this great nation was founded and what is was founded on and to take a core belief away or to undermine the very basis what our country was founded on is preposterous and should not even be a consideration. My personnel belief on homosexuality is irrelevant i believe that same sex marriage takes away from the basis of why our country was founded and to do it is disrespectful. If we can disgrace our core basis what else will we be able to go against or rewrite next the constitution?

    2. I think our forefathers would disagree with you. Both Jefferson and Madison, the founders of Federalism and supporters of religion, believed that religion has no place in government and that laws should not be made based on them. You're definitely entitled to your opinion, but remember that the class is US Government and Politics, so I need to make sure you know the implied perspectives of the founding members :)
Madison wrote, "practical distinction between Religion and Civil Government is essential to the purity of both, and as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States."
Jefferson wrote, "Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his god, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their "legislature" should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between church and State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."

  5. My result for the typology quiz was post-modern. For the most part I agree with the descriptions, that I care about the environment, and feel strongly about equality. Religion is also not an important factor in my life and immigration is not a problem in my eyes. However, I don't "generally support the government". Overall, the descriptions represented how I felt about the American government.

  6. These are so great guys....or ladies I guess. I'm loving your justifications. Do you think that it's possible for someone to have strong religious convictions and also be a staunch liberal?

    1. with all due respect this is a very difficult question however if you are strongly religious (I am assuming Christianity) how can you agree with every point of a quote on quote liberal. I believe there is no grey area its black or white you either support one or the other.
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other.” Luke 16:13
However you maybe able to be in the middle but you cant be completely loyal to one and the other

  7. My result from the typology quiz was quite shocking I am a Staunch Conservative. Shocking mostly due to the fact that i did not know there was a step above Main Street Republican. I agree with most of what I was described except for i am not 50 years old. I also don't believe immigrants will take over and I am only against them if they are here illegally and do not pay taxes and take American's jobs who deserve it or if the come over and then begin to complain about the government. I do love this country and am extremely religious and believe the we did not write the definition of marriage and we have no business re-writing it. Marriage is between one man and one woman that's the way God intended it and the way it should be I do not hate homosexuals but I do not not support them in anyway what so ever. I also don't support welfare since there are to me citizens who try to cheat the system and waste more government money.

  8. My results for the typology quiz was disaffected. I agree with being "Sympathetic to the poor and supportive of social welfare programs" ,but, I do not think that the government is not capable of solving problems. I'm also not concerned that much about immigration because we are all immigrants. Our ancestor came to America looking for a better way of life.

My results for the typology quiz was solid liberal. I agree that the government does not have the capability of solving all issues in the world. Also in all honesty, I believe in God and the Bible and Jesus but religion is not a big part of my life. I do not believe immigrants will take over our jobs and I am also all for homosexuality in society, if someone is happy they deserve to be happy out in the world, not having to hide.

  10. My results for the typology quiz was post modern. For the most part I agree with the description, like cameren said I care about the environment and I feel strongly about equality. I aldo dont support the government as much as the description intailed. Also religion isnt important in my life and immigration isnt a lead into terrorism. I believe everyone has a choice and if you work hard enough you can result in succes. Overall I can say the description described me well besides geographically.

After taking the typology quiz I discovered that I was a new coalition democrats. As it described I do believe in the government to a certain but I will never trust them completely. I strongly believe that there is a solution to every problem that this country is facing right now and I also believe that through hard work you can definitely get ahead. In addition, I strongly encourage the protection of our environment. If we don't take care of the environment properly then this same environment would instead become a danger to us, whereas the air and our water could be polluted leading to our trees dying and without trees the soil would lose its minerals and many animals that are used as food won't be able to survive, thus leading us in starvation where there is no fruits/vegetables and meat available for us to eat. And this would repeat the Great Depression of the 1930s. All in all protecting our environment is protecting ourselves and the future of our world.

After taking the typology quiz I found out that I'm a hard pressed Democrat. As it says I am very cynical about government. Business in my opinion is a huge part in our society. I don't view immigrants as a economic burden and a cultural threat. Yes I strongly support the environment, but I do have concerns on the economic impact. Would you spend tons of money on the environment or use that money on other stuff that's going downhill??

  13. After taking the typology quiz it showed that I am a moderate democrat. I found no conflict with the quiz and my political beliefs. I am in full support of gay rights for they are humans, plus business is a life savior for the community and vital for us. I also believe the government should have stricter laws on immigration, I believe people should have the opportunity to live the American dream but in a legal way, because the illegal immigrants ruin our business and economical status

  14. The typology quiz it showed that I am a post modern. It says that i am supportive of the goverment, which i am, however, they are conservative on race policies.i agree they have Strongly supportive of regulation and environmental protection, though they need to do more, but our currently problem, with debt does not allow the government to fund any more environment proggrams

  15. Nichole Doan,
After taking the typology quiz it showed that i was a post-modern. I then read the description of the people considered post-modern. I cannot say that i completely disagree with party the quiz paired me with but I will say that while reading the description there were things that were definitely not me at all but about 45% of the description did fit with a lot of my views and beliefs.

  16. The typology quiz result I received was libertarian. Prior to taking this quiz I already knew where I would fall. Included in the description of libertarian was " financially conservative but moderate to liberal on social issues, strongly pro-business, moderate views of immigrants, and accepting of homosexuality." This description definitely describes my views. I like the libertarian stand point because it's not too extreme, and allows for room to decide my own viewpoints.

  17. Based on my responses, I am considered post-modern, in which I mostly agree with because I don't favor religion, however I do support it due to the fact that it helps maintain peace around the world. Although the military is a strong factor in leading our country to where it should be, diplomacy, and handling issues without the use violence and force seems more efficient and productive- not to say that force should not be used otherwise our country would fall under terrorism at any given time. Also, I do believe in the rights of every human being, with reason. For example, race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, etc, should not make a person less than another. I feel that a person's actions speak more for the person as an individual than what they like and practice. With that being said, being born with rights, "with reason" means that one being should not be able to disrupt or end the life of another without being punished and/or having all freedom taken away from them. Goodbye.

  18. Unsurprisingly I am a "Solid Liberal". The descriptors represent me verbatim. I am indeed a secular-humanist, unconcerned with piety in the slightest. I do not find the government to be ‘completely’ ineffective (I doubt many people hold such a radical view) and I would assert that without organized, rational, meticulous overseers concerned with our wellbeing and keeping peace, humans would find themselves in anarchy.

I support the flowing of different races into our country, so as long as you seek to be a productive and altruistic member of society you should be rather welcome here.

    Period 1B

I have no contention with homosexuality or gay marriage. Many religious people like to bring fourth the argument that god defines marriage as being between “one man one women,” seemingly oblivious to scripture opposing this view.

Religious books, complex collections of text dating back millennia with obscure origins and overt inconsistencies should have little authority in enacting modern social policy and influencing morality. If the government had not granted marriage a plethora of legal benefits, marriage could have been only a religious institution if that is what the people wanted.

Protect the environment, give to the (deserving) poor, handle issues with diplomacy, be kind to your fellow human beings, equality, so on and so fourth.

  19. I was identified as a solid liberal. I do not much care for politics and would rather vote independent since I'm personally detached from such things. I do believe religion helps maintain peace around the world however history proves that it does cause problems in society and nationally. Too much focus on the health of our environment can become a problem however I must agree that promoting a healthy environment should be a natural part for every society at the very least. Government control isn't or should not be an issue because most people make the mistake of the not trusting our government when WE THE PEOPLE make up our government and possess power and control over it. And Lastly I do believe if immigrants helped shape this country then they should have equal rights here without prejudice. With that being said they too make up a vital portion of the United States.

All for equality amongst the people. Establish an equilibrium between the low middle and upper class. If needed be help the poor. Care for our environment and strengthen military because terrorism is to be expected from this world as we know today. My 2 cents..

My results from taking the typology quiz is "Post Modern". I completely agree with the statements and statistics it provides for the description. Before taking this quiz I generally listed myself as independent, not knowing the groups enough to classify myself. I do believe in protecting the environment because it is essential. I believe everybody should be equal to one another and be treated with the same respect we wish to have. I don't understand why it is so hard for people to give that respect to one another just because they are attracted to another gender. I think it makes the society look shallow to have hatred for one another over that fact. I do not favor religion that strongly which may blind me to why I can't understand how some people are homophobic.

My results from taking the typology quiz is that i'm a "new coalition democrat" I still do not entirely know what that means. But under the general description, the information stated was pretty interesting, even though I don't agree with all of it. Also I was pretty surprised at the questions that determine what someone is. I thought I was independent because I don't care much about politics. But after this quiz, I'm interested to know more about the different parties and they're view points.

Well, I didn't realize we basically had to write a novel about our results, I thought were just going to post our results on here... haha :)
My result from the test was that I am a Staunch Conservative. I guess I agree with the results because I do have strong Christian beliefs so that does influence certain things that I would be for or against, such as homosexuality or abortion. Honestly I thought I was going to be a Main Street Repub. because I really don't care about big business making big money. They started from the bottom and now they are there, good for them. I also don't find immigrants as a threat. OH but I do believe blacks play the race card way too much (number 4 on the quiz). We don't live in the times of new found freedom from slavery. We live in America and America is a free country and what you choose to do and where to go with your life is up to YOU and only you. You can't blame others for YOUR problems. Whether you are black, white, hispanic, asian, purple, alien, a penguin, whatever you are, you are the only person that is going to get you anywhere in your life. The only one who can stop you from achieving your goals is yourself.
    I guess I am done here :)
    Peace out girl scouts.

  23. I ended up finding out I am at Libertarian and I had no idea what a Libertarian was until I took the quiz. I agree with this selection. I strongly believe in being highly critical of the government and accepting homosexuality. Also I don't think going to church and religion is that important and these are some Libertarian traits.

According to the typology quiz, I am a "Main Street Republican". I don't really know what to think of this. While I am critical of government(I mean who isn't?), I am confident that hard work pays off, and religion plays a big role in my life, I am not strongly opposed to abortion and same sex marriage. I don't support it 100% but I wouldn't go as far as to forbid it or make it illegal. I believe that everyone has free-will and what they choose to do with their lives is their business. Saying that, whatever consequences may come from their decisions are also their business. Also, I am definitely NOT negative about immigrants. We are all immigrants, we all came here for a better life and the famous "American dream". Our diversity is our culture. If you think that "immigrants" are "stealing" your jobs, maybe you should stop making excuses for yourself and try a little harder to become better at your job.

  25. So apparently the typology quiz labeled me as a Post-modern. I agree and think this classification is validated by how accurately it described me on my takes and views. It was spot-on when stating my strong liberal perspectives on social matters such as same sex marriage and how religion directly impacts and dictates some of my decisions. It also was right that I support the government and military on foreign affairs but am a strong supporter of diplomacy before brash and unnecessary action that our sometimes imperialistic nation takes prematurely.

  26. The typology quiz labeled me as a staunch conservative, which I disagree entirely. I do not feel as though immigrants are a threat to traditional American customs and values, because most of us can be titled as "emigrants" through our ancestors and have all shaped this country somehow . I also am not critical of the federal government and could care less where president obama was born at. The only way I can be described as a staunch conservative is the fact that I go to church, own guns, is against abortion and I feel the best way to uphold peace is through our military.

  27. Christine Baezaponte 1B - Disaffected Group

After taking the quiz, my results came out to be a part of the "Disaffected." I actually realized that as I was taking this quiz that I contradict myself and culture in many ways. Such as immigration and my actual opinions on them residing in the United States. I think it's not a racial issue, just a personal issue. I think it's kind of funny though that the Disaffected is 11% of the population. I would of thought it would be a higher percentage than that. When it came down to reading what the group believed I felt that it described me very well. I do find myself to be sympathetic to the poor and I do tend to find financial issues very overwhelming and fustrating at times as well. But I do see why I fit into this category, I would say I'm rather pleased to see that I am a part of the Disaffected group. Thats that COOL 11% :D
